Parker, set to be 34 in January, said: “This is all or nothing. I am not considering defeat. I respect my opponent and what he has done and the way he's trained for this fight. But I am on a different level and I am going to show it on Saturday.”

Wardley will be 31 in December, and he said: “This is a monumental event for the pair of us. It is clearly the most significant bout of my career and the biggest fight of my life. But every time I step up I elevate my performance. The upcoming fight will be no exception. The separation between Parker's level and what others believe about me has been a recurring narrative during my entire career.

“He has been going around the block for a considerable period, with a numerous contests on his record. By no means is he an senior boxer but he has been in the sport for a significant time and had numerous grueling matches. I’ve been in a few wars myself and I realize they cause wear and tear. He has been in a significantly more of those compared to me.”
